Veg For Turkeys
Every November, turkeys are distributed at an abominable rate for the sake of our ever-taking human race's appetites. Turkey farms are not solely operated this time of year, but they get a huge portion of their revenue for the year due to Thanksgiving.
VegForTurkeys is dedicated to promoting appreciation for this beautiful, intelligent bird and to raise awareness about the issues that surround its species.
We ask that you decide to go veg for the turkeys this year. Share some meat alternatives at your family feast, donate some veg-friendly options to the food pantries and shelters, and take a moment to think of the billions of lives of turkeys lost.

November is Love Your Turkey Month! How will you show your love for these amazing birds?
VegForTurkeys supports awareness and promotion of turkeys as a species, as opposed to a meal option. Sharing information about their social and emotional lives, cognition, and conditions living on turkey farms are our goals.
How can you help? You can start by spreading the word.
- Share scientific articles about turkey’s social habits, emotional needs, and amazing cognitive abilities.
- Spread the word that “free-range” and “organic” farm conditions are still inhumane and torturous. Many don’t know that baby turkeys’ beaks are surgically altered, that most turkeys don’t live past 4 months of age, and that many birds are stunted mentally and emotionally due to overcrowding. The anxiety and fright that these birds endure is extremely cruel and certainly unnecessary. We can prevent it.
- Write your thoughts about what you can do, or what you are doing, to improve living conditions for turkeys and to help save more turkey (and other animal) lives.
- Recommend great books on factory farming and animal rights.
